Celebrate Chiropractic

Thursday, Tom Brokaw went to the hospital because he mixed up his own medication. He calls it a "cautionary tale". Maybe it is really a loud warning inviting the need for major paradigm shift. Drugs will never improve anyone’s health. They are designed to stimulate or inhibit a body function in an attempt to fool your perception of your health. The challenge to living an optimal life is to support your innate wisdom’s simple pursuit of balance!
“… It was one of those dumb mistakes," Brokaw said. "I got up early, I was in a rush, and somehow half a sleeping pill got into the little box reserved for the baby aspirin, and it all kicked in at the wrong time. He stressed that he was "fine," calling it a "cautionary tale."
Tom may very well be “fine”, however; "fine” is a mediocre term. Humans are not designed to be fine we are designed to be Magnificent!
Chiropractic was discovered 117 years ago based on a very simple idea. YOUR body is self-healing and YOUR nerve system is the master controller of all functions.

We are Celebrating Chiropractic's Birthday!

Chiropractic Helps Child With Seizures - A Case Study

In the Volume 6, No. 3, 2005 issue of the peer reviewed Journal of Clinical Chiropractic Pediatrics is a scientifically reported case study of an infant suffering from seizures who was helped by chiropractic.

The child in this case study was a 5 month old boy who, according to his parents, cried continuously, slept minimally, and experienced up to 8 seizures per day. Additionally, the child recently had surgery to close sutures on the left side of his head. The mother also noted that her son had a constant head tilt to the left and could not rotate his head and neck to the right.

The chiropractic examination on the child was difficult as it was noted that the infant was in severe distress and cried during the entire procedure. However, it was determined that there were problems (subluxations) in various areas of the neck, mid back and lower spine.

Regular chiropractic adjustments were started and continued for several weeks, followed by periodic follow ups. The outcome of the care was immediately positive as the number of seizures started decreasing after the first adjustment. Several weeks into the care the child seemed to have a regression for one day as he experienced five seizures in that day. However, following this episode he was seizure free for the next week. This was the first week of his life that he was seizure free.

By the sixth week of care the child's life had been drastically changed for the better. He was having no seizures between adjustments, he was sleeping all night and he was eating properly for a child his age. The case study noted that these improvements represented a significant improvement to the child's quality of life.

The author of the study, Nancy Brown, D.C., notes that each year approximately 150,000 children and adolescents have a seizure. She points out that seizures are a sudden onset of abnormal electrical discharges within the brain. She further points out that the medical approach is to medicate in order to suppress the abnormal electrical impulses. However, she points out that there is no way to suppress the abnormal impulses without suppressing the normal ones which would be needed for normal function and development. She states, "A chiropractic approach may therefore be of more benefit as it will correct the abnormal impulses not just suppress them."

This is my first Blog - it is a test!

Hello All this is a test but I hope it is filled with some useful information. Maybe you or someone you know is going to try to quit smoking this New Year (or some other habit). This may be of some help to them.

"How to Quit Smoking Easily and Effortlessly"

Do not attempt until YOU are ready to quit. It does not matter what others want you to do.

If you are looking for specific step by step instructions this is not it. If you are a little analytical this may not be the best approach for you.

If you can FEEL, if you can transition or evolve - go with the flow, you will enjoy the power this process will give you.

What will change is how you identify with yourself over time. If part of your identity is that you are a smoker, that part of your self-perception must shift first.

Be easy about it and allow this change to occur do not force it. Love yourself right now for who you are!

When ever you think about it - once a month, once a week, once a day, or while smoking a cigarette at your favorite time of day, think or say to yourself something positive about your smoking habit. "Wow, I did not smoke as many cigarettes as usual yesterday." or Wow, this cigarette does not taste as good as usual." or "Every day I am smoking less and less!"

Id does not matter if it is "true" you are creating a new truth for yourself. Speak or feel these works with excitement. Be amazed, be happy about it!

Never condemn yourself, recognize and clear any guilt feelings - and always praise your progress especially the baby steps.

In time - what ever time it takes, what ever time will serve you best, you will eventually find no use for the because you identity of yourself will change.

This process works for things you want to improve as well. You are "Youthful", "Creative", "A Good and Patient Parent", "An Appreciative and Loving Spouse", etc.

The resistance you will feel is the contrast or conflict between your mind trying to keep the facts straight and your subconscious mind willing to experience something new and different. Your are not under oath, you are daydreaming the possibilities. Day dreams become reality all the time.
